The Marietta Journal August 12, 1897
SMYRNA

Revival services began at the Presbyterian church last Sunday, conducted by Rev
ANDERSON of Canton.

Mrs Joe RUTLEGE, who has been quite sick for the past week, is reported some
better.

It is with regret that we chronicle the death of Mr W S DEMPSEY, who died in our
town on last Thursday night at 2 am, leaving a wife and three children.  We
sympathize with them in their bereavement.

It is rumored that the church bells will be ringing for another wedding before
many more Sundays roll around.

Mr W C MILLER, wife and charming daughter, Tavie, from Atlanta spent last Sunday
in our town.
