Her funeral was conducted at the Methodist church on Monday by Rev Fred EDMONSTEN of St Paul's church Atlanta, after which her remains were interred in the Smyrna cemetery. She was a charter member of the Methodist church here and was a devout and loyal Christian. She leaves five boys and three girls to mourn her death. She had been living at the old family homestead here all her life, except two years during the war. In her departure she goes to reap the reward of a well spent life and with a faith that opens the gates of pearl in the celestial city. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved relatives. Mr George MOORE of Chattanooga paid a visit to relatives here Sunday. Smyrna is remarkably quiet. Old and young are busily engaged in the pleasant pastime of picking cotton. Messrs Will Ed TALAFARICO and Harvey PRICKETT of Atlanta spent Sunday with friends here. Miss Porter RAY of Atlanta is visiting her cousin, Miss Maud RAY, just now. Mrs Frank GIBSON and family left last Saturday to sojourn with her husband in the city of Blue Ridge, Mr GIBSON being in the employ of A K & N Railroad in that place. Miss Ollie DANIELLS of Concord is visiting Miss Bettie MOORE. Uncle Billy COPELAND, who has been laid up for several weeks on account of sickness, is improving right along and it is hoped will soon be out again among his many friends. Our young people were tendered a delightful party by Mr and Mrs RAY last Friday night, and I am told it was a most enjoyable occasion, to all present. Mr Berry ADAMS of Atlanta is visiting parents here this week. - Critic Additional Comments: from The Marietta Journal dated Thursday, November 3, 1898 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/smyrnaco224nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
