Several wagon loads of our young people enjoyed a straw ride to Marietta last Friday night. They report having a pleasant time, getting home late in the night. Dr W T PACE took in the Macon Carnival and is delighted with Macon and her citizens. The carnival was excellent. The mortal remains of Mrs Dora GANN THIGPEN, who died in Brewton, Ga., last Wednesday, were laid to rest in the family burying ground at this place. The funeral services were conducted by Rev A J MORGAN at the Baptist church, of which she was a consistent member. Mrs THIGPEN was ill only a few days and her death cast a gloom over Brewton and this place, where she was well and favorable known. she leaves besides husband and baby, a large number of relatives and friends to mourn her death. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved in this hour of trial. Saturday morning Mr S J IRELAN was standing in front of the post office, talking to his father, his horse and wagon standing near by, when the horse started off without warning, pulling the rear wheel over his right foot, mashing off a toe nail and otherwise disfiguring the member. He is getting along all right. - Critic File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/smyrnaco232nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
