The Marietta Journal June 23, 1904
SMYRNA

Prof and Mrs J R DEAVORS delightfully entertained our young people last Tuesday
evening.  All kinds of games, songs, and music were indulged in, and a pleasant
time had by all in attendance.

Mrs Chas DuBIGNON of Chattanooga is visiting relatives in our burg.

Sidney HARGIS of New Louisville, Ark., will be numbered among our many visitors
in the near future.

Mrs B T FREY spent Saturday in our town visiting relatives.

J F PETTY is home again after a prolonged business trip to Birmingham, Ala.

Miss Lillian HARGIS entertained her many young friends with a delightful party
last Wednesday evening.  Flinch and other such games were indulged in to a late
hour.  Refreshments were served.

Mrs G W BENNETT of Atlanta, who has been visiting Mrs John RUTLEDGE, returned
home Sunday.

Mrs C W PYRON, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs WING, left for her home
in Acworth last Saturday morning.

Mrs Mary EADY and daughter of Atlanta were recent visitors to our city.

Col Ed L WIGHT and family have moved back to Belmont for the summer.

T J HILL is reported quite sick at this time.

Mrs P M RICE and Miss Coral REED attended the funeral of their aunt, Mrs Irene
RUFF, in Atlanta last Saturday.  Mrs RUFF was the widow of Col Z A RUFF, who was
killed during the civil war.

Miss Bessie LITTLEFIELD, who has been the charming guest of Mrs John RUTLEDGE,
returned to her home in Dalton last Sunday.

Rev A J MORGAN will fill his regular appointment at the Baptist Church next
Sunday.  Come out and hear him.
