The Marietta Journal June 7, 1894
SMYRNA

This is a week of delightful pleasure to us.  The closing exercises of Smyrna
High School are being held at the academy.  The exercises are considered one of
the best ever rendered in our town.

Miss Ossie MALCOME, one of Monroe's lovliest young ladies, is visiting the
Misses FLEMING.

Miss RUFF of Nickajack and Miss BIRDSONG of Troup county visited friends here
last week.

Mrs P BASWELL, who has been quite ill, is improving.

Miss Margory HILL has closed her school for the summer.

The infant child of Mr and Mrs W BALL was buried here Sunday morning.
