The infant son of Mr and Mrs Ed Medlin of Atlanta was buried in the cemetery at this place last week, the little one having fallen a victim of the dread disease pneumonia. Mrs Chas DuBignon, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs T W Whitfield, for the past week or so returned to her home in Blue Ridge last Saturday. Nickajack and Mableton Lodge of Odd Fellows will celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Order with joint rally and basket picnic at this place, Tuesday, April 23rd. Every Odd Fellow and his family are invited to join them on this occasion. A large number is expected and a good time is assured all who attend. Rev A J Morgan filled his regular appointment at the Baptist church last Sunday. The budding of the trees, the flowering of the bulb plants of the garden, the plaintive chirp of the blue bird and the fragrance of the commercial fertilizers on the early morning air, indicates that spring indeed is here. Are you sorry? Dr Walter Hamby of Fargo visited relatives here for several days last week. Messrs Ridley, Hamby and Matthews, employees of the W & A R R, are enjoying a few days of rest just now, a kind of a vacation not usually relished or of their own selection. Next Sunday is Easter and a special program has been prepared for services at the Methodist church. Rev Mr Kelly, the pastor, will have charge of the services and they will be specially interesting to all who attend. If the correspondents desire a picnic at this point, I would like some decided information on the subject, as to date and the usual program on such occasions. Now talk up, I do not care to wait until the last minute and hatch out a failure. I want to give you a real pleasant day - one ou'd like to remember. Nelms Lodge, F & A M will hold a regular communication next Saturday night and work in the second degree. All brethern qualified are requested to meet with us on this date. - Critic File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/smyrnane1795gnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.7 Kb
