Marietta Journal July 12, 1900
From the Marietta Journal dated Thursday, July 12 1900:

UNION CHAPEL

School was opened Monday with a good attendance.

Miss Sarah IRWIN of Elberton is the guest of Mr Robt IRWIN's family.

Mrs SAFFOLD is visiting her daughter, Mrs R T NESBITT.

Messrs Edward SMITH and John HARDIN of Atlanta were guests of Mr A A IRWIN Sunday.

Mrs Mary CABE died on last Friday morning, surrounded by her family.  The
deceased was the widow of Mr Samuel CABE, who died about two years ago.  Before
her health failed, she was noted for her energy and desire to administer to
others.  Four daughters and six sons survive her.  She was a member of the
Episcopal church.  The funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon by Rev
C T A PISE at the Episcopal chapel, and the interment took place in the
Episcopal church.  By the Angel of Death the spirit of a wearied sufferer was
gently wafted to the God who gave it.
