It is with great sorrow that we chronicle the death of Mrs Bennett SORRELS, which occurred at her home near this place Tuesday of last week. She was sick only a few hours, when death relieved her of her severe suffering. She was the only surviving child of Mr John W RAKESTRAW, and was a member of the Baptist church, and lived a consistent christian life. We have every reason to believe she was ready for the summons when it came. She was the mother of nine children, two passed away several years ago and one was buried in her arms. Six are still living to mourn the sad loss of a loving mother. We deeply sympathize with the grief stricken husband and motherless children and aged father of the deceased. May they so live as to meet her in the sweet by-and-by. Mr Robt ROLLINS of Edwardsville, Ala., spent a few days with his brothers, A L and J C ROLLINS last week. The quarterly meeting of the Carrollton district will be held here next Saturday and Sunday. We hope everyone who can will come out to hear our P. E., Rev A W WILLIAMS. Mr F M RICE has returned from Texas, where he spent a while with his son, Mr DeWitt RICE. Mr J R GRIGGS and little daughter visited the family of Mr J T CHALKER, near Kennesaw, last Sunday. - Ruby Additional Comments: from The Marietta Journal dated Thursday, August 27, 1896 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/upshawco196nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 2.0 Kb
