From the Marietta Journal dated Thursday, June 14 1900:

UPSHAW

DIED - Mrs Lula ELLIOTTE, wife of Mr Henry ELLIOTTE, and oldest daughter of Mr
and Mrs J F JOHNSTON, passed away last Saturday afternoon, aged thirty-seven
years.  She had been a member of the M E church for twenty-three years, and was
a constant christian.  She said just before she died that all she hated to die
for, was leaving her dear little children.  She called them one by one to her
bedside, kissed them good bye, admonishing them to live right and meet her in
heaven.  She leaves a devoted husband, seven little children, an aged father and
mother, two sisters and five brothers to mourn their loss.  The funeral services
were conducted by Revs A LESTER and W O WALDEN, Sunday afternoon, after which
the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at this place.  The sorrowing ones
have our heartfelt sympathy.

Mrs BABB and children have returned from their visit to Atlanta.  

Martin GRIGGS and wife visited relatives at Alpharetta last week.

Mrs Rebecca SMITH of Atlanta attended the funeral of Mrs ELLIOTTE here last Sunday.
