She delighted the Literary Circle with a beautiful recitation last Saturday afternoon. Misses Lena COLLINS and Gertie BATE, two of Acworth's prettiest and sweetest brunettes, visited Mr UPSHAW's family on Saturday last. The M L C had quite a pleasant meeting in the grove last Saturday afternoon. Some fine recitations on the stand where the artists of elocution and "sons of thunder" spoke the day of the picnic - the picnic, the brilliance of whose exercises yet lingers - won't somebody please let me down easy? Anyway, everybody talks about it yet. A new feature - debating has been introduced, so as to require and inspire original effort. Next meeting in the grove or at the schoolhouse, Saturday pm, 29th inst. Lookout for a Hayne and Webster tableau. We have had a gracious meeting at the church here. Rev H L CRUMLEY, an humble, earnest minister, assisted pastor HUDSON. Some precious conversions among our friends, and we hope impressions were made that will bless the community for years to come. - Earnest Willie File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/cobb/newspapers/upshawso179nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
