He is now 83 years old and this spring he walked 8 miles to his son's house to get potato slips and went home and set them out. The round being 16 miles. DIED - On the 8th inst., the death angel visited the home of Mr James MURNER, who lives about 5 miles west of here and claimed for its victim the spirit of his beloved wife, Mrs Leva MURNER. She had been a sufferer from that dreaded disease dropsy, for several months. She was laid to rest in Bethel cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Rev A J McCOY. She leaves a husband and one child, six months old, to mourn her demise. Miss Lee MULLINS, one of Atlanta's charming young ladies, spent last week with her cousin, Miss Donnie REED, of this place. DIED - Mr Clifford SEWELL, of Atlanta, aged about 23 years died at his home on Monday of last week of paralysis. His remains were brought to New Hope for interment, accompanied by a large concourse of friends. He was a grandson of Mr I P SEWELL, of New Hope. He leaves a wife, one brother and two sisters and a host of friends to mourn his demise. The funeral was conducted by Rev Dr BRADLY of Trinity Church Atlanta. The bereaved family have our sympathy. Mrs Missouri MULLINS returned to her home in Atlanta, last Sabbath, after a pleasant week's visit to her brother, Mr Isaac REED. Mrs Jane BARBER of Atlanta, who has been visiting her daughter in Marietta, was in our community a few days last week. Mrs R H FLEMING of Braden, Gwinette county, arrived last Saturday and is now at her daughter's, Mrs C G ROGERS. She will probably spend several days in the county.
