For a number of years Mr and Mrs Beach and only daughter lived near Marietta, having built the house on Powder Springs road, now owned by Mr J T CORLEY. Their home was noted for unbounded hospitality, and stood like a magnet in the community, drawing the young people there for many literary organizations, the uplifting influence of which is still felt by many now "grown-up." The deceased was a woman of unusual mind, and was the first lady typist in New York, where her girlhood days were spent. She was a noble Christian character and the embodiment of truth and sincerity. Besides her husband who is best known to our people, as "Farmer Beach," his nom de plume, when writing for the Marietta Journal, she is survived by her daughter, who married George N LESTER, and four grandchildren, Albert LESTER, now in France, George N LESTER, Jr, a student at Georgia Tech., and Misses Margaret and Melissa LESTER, who reside in Washington City with their parents. Many friends here deeply sympathize with the bereaved ones. Additional Comments: Notices in the Washington Post note that she is Melissa K BEACH, wife of Henry A BEACH. She died February 26th, and interment was in Arlington Cemetery.
