The Marietta Journal, May 21, 1890
After an illness of seven months, of cancer, God has called to his home above,
the beloved old mother in Israel, Mrs Francis BENNETT, who departed this life
Sunday, the 18th inst., at 12 o'clock.  She bore her sickness with Christian
fortitude.  She lived 70 days without any move of the bowels.  She was in the
80th year of her age, and for 50 years was a member of the Baptist Church.  She
leaves one child, a lovely daughter, whose hand was ever ready to minister to
her mother's wants.  The body of the deceased was interred at Mars Hill cemetery
in the presence of a large audience of friends and relatives.  Rev A JOHNSTON of
Acworth officiating at the funeral.  Our sympathies to the bereaved.
