Mr BISHOP was one of the men of affairs of this county, where he was born and reared. He spent much time in the service of the sick and needy, and his friends were a multitude, as was attested by the gathering at his funeral on Tuesday. He was a member of the Methodist church, and his funeral service was performed by Rev Rembert SMITH, assisted by the Presiding Elder, Dr ERWIN. He was buried at the BISHOP family burial ground, on the old place in Merritt District, where he was born. Some years ago he had one of his hands injured in an accident in a gin, and for several years since his health had not been good, although he was comparatively active in the affairs of the county, being one of the members of the county school board up to within a few days of his death. He left a wife, one son, Cooper M BISHOP, and seven daughters, Mrs W O BOATNER, Mrs L G MOON, Mrs J D LAZENBY, Mrs W W KEMP, Mrs Elbert MARLER, Mrs Ollie JOHNSON, Miss Rosie BISHOP, all of Cobb County and Mrs D F REED of Texas. He was a brother of Messrs Lee, Ben, W A, and A A BISHOP, of the county, and Mr Ed BISHOP of Atlanta. To all these relatives the sympathy of numerous friends is extended.
