Marietta Journal, March 27 1924
Mr James BROOKS, age 69 years, died at his residence on Locust st., Marietta,
Ga., on March 24, after an illness which had covered a period of several months.
 Mr BROOKS is survived by his wife, Mrs Sarah Ann BROOKS, three brothers, Mr
Elijah BROOKS, Cartersville, Ga.; Mr Tom BROOKS, Anniston, Ala.; Mr Charles
BROOKS, Anniston, Ala.; two daughters, Mrs Sol FERGUSON, Dallas, Ga.; Mrs Jesse
CROW, Marietta; four sons, Mr William BROOKS, Winder, Ga.; Mr Jos BROOKS, Lake
Hamilton, Fla.; Mr Newt BROOKS, Haines City, Fla.; Mr S L BROOKS, Atlanta, Ga.;
and a number of other relatives and friends throughout North Georgia who will be
shocked to learn of his death.  The funeral services were held at New Canon
church in Paulding county, Tuesday morning, March 25 at 11 o'clock, interment
was in the New Canon cemetery with John S Dobbins & Sons in charge of the
arrangements.
