MRS J R BRUMBY'S FUNERAL HERE MONDAY

Death of Popular Marietta Lady Mourned by Many Friends.  Died in Florida.

Mrs James Remley BRUMBY died at her home in Dunedin, Fla., Oct. 18th, after a
brief illness, and was laid to rest beside her brother and parents in the
Episcopal cemetery here Oct. 21st.  She was Miss Laura Margaret SMITH, daughter
of Mr Mongin SMITH of St Mary's, who moved to Marietta when she was a child. 
Her mother was Miss Laura Margaret COLE.  She would have been 66 years old this
November.  Beside her husband, six children survive her, Mrs L D HOPP-, Mrs
Robert LEACH, Miss Isabel BRUMBY, Messrs. Mougin, Bolan and James R BRUMBY Jr. 
The UDC of which she was a charter member marched in a body to her grave.  She
was refined and gentle and lovable but dignified and capable, in every sense a
superior woman.  She was married in St James Church and all her children have
been baptized and confirmed there.  Rev George BENEDICT and Rev E S DOAN
conducted the funeral service.  The pall bearers were Messrs Mongin, Bolan, J R
Jr, Tom, Jr, J R and Jack BRUMBY, Richard SIMPSON, Ben and Frank WELLONS.

Mr and Mrs Clarence BRUMBY, Mrs C C BRUMBY, Mrs Roger DEWAR, Mrs Robert ZAHNER
and Miss Cleveland ZAHNER of Atlanta, attended the funeral.  The church was
filled with friends.  The floral tributes were exquisitely lovely.  Most of the
flowers used grew in Marietta, only lilies of the valley and galax leaves were
imported.
