The Marietta Journal and Courier, October 22 1915
Mr S A CARTER was suddenly stricken with an acute illness Saturday while sitting
on the porch with his wife at his home in the country.  He died in about three
hours of heart failure.  His wife was Miss Jane POWER, a cousin of Col W R
POWER, and of Mr W A and A A BISHOP of Marietta.  Besides his wife, he leaves
six sons, Messrs Wylie, Roy, Alonzo, Oland, John and William.

His funeral was conducted by Rev Walter BLACKWELL and the burial was at
Providence in Fulton county where he formerly lived.
