CHAFIN, 71, RETIRED MACHINIST Thaeron Albert Chafin, 71, of Kennesaw, died Friday. Services will be 4 p.m. today at Greer's Chapel Baptist Church in Kennesaw with the Rev. Robert J. Therrell officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services. A native of Atlanta, Mr. Chafin had lived in Cobb County for 30 years. He was a retired machinist with Auto-Soler Company in Atlanta and a Coast Guard veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 221. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Chafin; two sons, Terry Chafin of Kennesaw and Alton Chafin of Woodstock; two daughters, Cynthia Mulkey of Woodstock and Dale Hall of Tybee Beach; three brothers, Henry N. Chafin of Ft. Walton, Fla., James M. Chafin Sr.. of Smyrna, and Verlin Chafin of Marietta; sister, Lillian Little of Flowery Branch; nine grandchildren.
