Marietta Journal & Courier, November 23 1917
Mrs Elizabeth DODGEN age 93 years died last Saturday Nov 17 at her sons, F B
DODGEN at Mableton.

She is survived by two sons, F B and J N DODGEN and quite a number of
grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grand-children.  She was one
of the oldest members of the Primitive Baptist church at Collin Spring.  She was
the widow of John L DODGEN.  She was laid to rest beside him at the family
cemetery Sunday afternoon, Rev H G MITCHELL and Rev A B SEAY afficiating.  She
won fame for her hospitality.  Her home was ever open to her friends.  She was
truly a good neighbor, a tender mother and a loving companion.  A great life has
gone out, and earth is poorer.  We tender our sympathies to the bereaved.
