Marietta Journal, March 27 1924
Mr James Thomas ELLIOTT, a very prominent farmer and well liked citizen of near
Marietta, died at his residence on Monday, March 24 at the age of 39 years.  Mr
ELLIOTT had been in ill health for some time and his death comes as a surprise
to a number of friends and relatives throughout Cobb county and Marietta. 
Besides his wife, Mrs Mary Ann ELLIOTT, he is survived by his mother, Mrs Eliza
ELLIOTT, a brother, Mr George ELLIOTT and four children.  The funeral services
were held at the Olive Springs Baptist church Thursday morning at 11 o'clock,
Rev G V CROW officiating.  Interment was in the Maloney Springs cemetery.  Mr
ELLIOTT was a member of the Junior Order United American Mechanics, Mableton
Lodge No. 112, who had charge of the services at the grove, assisted by members
of Marietta Council No. 24, Jr. O U A M.  John S Dobbins & Sons, funeral
directors, were in charge.
