ENGLAND SR., 66, MINISTER The Rev. James Roy England, 66, of Kennesaw, died Tuesday. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Corner Baptist Church with the Revs. J.T. Hollingshed and Charles Callihan officiating. The body will be at the church at noon. Burial will be in Mars Hill Cemetery in Acworth. A native and lifelong resident of Cobb County, the Rev. England was a supervisor in the electrical engineering department at Lockheed-Georgia Co. until his retirement in 1981 after 35 years' service. A World War II Navy veteran, he was pastor of Corner Baptist Church in Powder Springs and Formerly pastored Hickory Grove and New Hope Baptist Churches in Acworth, Greers Chapel Baptist Church in Marietta, Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Kennesaw, and Corinth Baptist Church in Bremen. The Rev. England was a member of Kennestone Hospital Volunteer Chaplin Associatioon and was named Chaplin of the Year in 1988. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and belonged to Acworth Lodge No, 176,F.&A.M., Acworth Chapter No. 40 Royal Arch Masons, Acworth Chapter 455 OES where he had been the Past Worth Patron and Past District Grand Deputy. He was a 33rd-degree Shriner and member of Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Wofford England; son, Jimmy England of Marietta; two daughter, Ann England and Mary Frances Sumner of Destin, Fla.; brother, Elgin England of Kennesaw; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
