The Marietta Journal, August 11, 1904
Mr Jess FANNIN died on last Monday evening in this city of appendicitis.  An
operation had been performed by Dr DUVALL of Atlanta, assisted by Dr FIELD, but
he was too far gone with the disease for the operation to do any good.  He was
about 23 years of age.  He was an employee of the Brumby Chair Company and was a
most worthy young man.  His remains were carried to Midway Tuesday and interred
in the cemetery there.  The Red Men performed the last sad rites.
