She had been an invalid almost six years and used a wheeled chair, but until a few weeks ago was bright and cheerful and enjoyed the visits of her children and friends. Only a few weeks ago she enjoyed her last birthday dinner. She succumbed to the infirmities of age but her hair was only faded, not grey, and she appeared in the deep repose of death, not over 60 years old. She leaves three daughters, Mrs B J HAMBY, Mrs N B WHITE and Mrs C J BULLARD and three sons, William J and B T FREY of Marietta, and E W FREY of Oklahoma, beside 32 grand-children and a great many great grand-children. The funeral and interment were at New Hope church of which she was a charter member and near it still stands the home to which she came as a bride from Columbia S. C. She was laid to rest beside her husband. The funeral service was conducted by D Rembert SMITH assisted by Rev W H SPEER and Rev W A WELLS of Augusta, once her pastor, and Dr SEWELL of Atlanta, her near neighbor for a long time paid tributes to her nobility as a woman. Mrs C P STEPHENS was at the organ and Mrs Charlie NORTHCUTT, Mrs Virgil McCLESKEY, Mr BEYERLE and Mr Homer LEWIS sang "Gathering Home," "In the Sweet By and By" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." A number of the church members also sang "Hark From the Tomb." The pall bearers were Mrs FREY's eight grandsons, Mayes and Moultrie FREY, Esmer and Roy BULLARD, Horace and Carol HAMBY, and George and Steve WHITE. Thirty of her grand-children were grouped around the casket. It was a most impressive funeral and fully half of the people who came could not get into the church. The floral tributes were magnificent. One of the handsomest was a large lyre of white flowers on a base of galax leaves sent by her children. Mrs FREY will be sadly missed by her numerous relatives and friends but they feel she has only entered into rest.
