He received a fall a few weeks ago, owing to paralysis, fracturing his spine which hastened his death. Professor FREYER came to this country from Dresden, Germany, in 1849, and, being a very fine and skilled violinist, traveled and played for concerts. He was in the orchestra that played for the celebrated Jenny Lind. He was an intimate friend of Ole BULL, the world-renowned violinist, as well as other great musicians. He finally located in Micanopy, Fla., and enlisted during the civil war in the First Florida Cavalry. After the war he located in Marietta and conducted an extensive music house in Atlanta and accumulated a nice fortune. At the time of his death he owned a good deal of property in Marietta, the Kennesaw House being part of his estate. Mr FREYER loved Marietta and her people and was highly esteemed. He was strictly a man of his word, punctual to pay his debts, and proved a good citizen. He had been married twice, his second wife being Miss BARROWS of Davenport, Iowa. He is survived by his wife and five children - Mr Charles H FREYER by his first wife, and Mr E B FREYER, Mrs Morgan L McNEEL and Lieutenant Frank FREYER of the United States Navy by his last wife. His funeral was conducted by Rev Nelson GEORGE of the Episcopal church at the family residence on Cherokee street on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The interment was in the Episcopal cemetery. The pall-bearers were Senator A S CLAY, Mr M G WHITLOCK, Colonel D W BLAIR, Mr S K DICK, Dr J R GREER and Mr James T ANDERSON. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the family in their bereavement. Additional Comments: Although the article states that FREYER was survived by five children, only four were named.
