The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon, at 3 o’clock, from the First Baptist church, Rev. George V. Crowe and Rev. I.A. White, officiating. Interment was in the City cemetery. The following named grandsons served as pallbearers: Messrs. Ernest Hicks, William Hicks, J.F. Hicks, J.F. Hicks, Jr., Ed Bradley, Starlin Beasley and Gordon Beasley. Mrs. Hicks is survived by three daughter[s], Mrs. T.W. [should be W.T.] Beasley, Marietta, Ga.; Mrs. W.T. Bradley, Montgomery, Ala.; and Mrs. J.H. Knox, of Marietta. Six sons, Mr. Homer Hicks, Mr. J.W. Hicks, Mr. J.F. Hicks, Mr. S.C. Hicks, Mr. J.S. Hicks, and Mr. C.P. Hicks, all of Marietta, Ga. Two sisters, Mrs. Viola Reed, of Marietta, Ga., Mrs. T.H. Benson, of Atlanta, Ga., and a brother, Mr. J.F. Brown, Bowden, Ga. She was born and reared in Cobb County, was a member of Milford Baptist church, in which community she lived practically all her life. Mayes Ward & Company.
