Hicks, 83 years old, who died at his home in Benton, Ark., was a former resident of Cobb County. He was a brother of the late Capt. R.B. Hicks, and an uncle of Messrs. Tom M., J.H., and J.S. Hicks of Marietta. He was a valiant Confederate soldier, one of the last members of Company H, Seventh Georgia Regiment. Mr. Anderson Reed of Marietta was one of his old comrades-in arms, as well as a good friend of Mr. Hicks.
