Charles Howard, colored, for several years night watchman at the M. & N. Ga. 
railroad shops in Marietta, was killed at the shops, by some unknown party on 
Monday night last.  His head was crushed by some heavy instrument, his body 
dragged to the stove and the fire pulled upon his head which burned him in a 
horrible manner.  Pink Stephens is working a clew which he thinks will entrap the 
guilty party or parties.  A man and woman are supposed to be the murderers, and, 
it is said, a man has been arrested who had on Howard's watch.  Other 
developments will follow.
