The Marietta Journal & Courier, May 12 1911
The remains of Mrs Ellen Guthrie Lacy, wife of Mr Vick Lacy of Atlanta, were
buried here last Thursday.  She died at the Grady hospital Tuesday from a pistol
shot wound inflicted by herself at the home of her mother, Mrs William Guthrie,
and in the presence of her four year old son who had scarlet fever.  Her health
had been bad and the strain of anxiety and watching was too much for her to stand.

12 1911.
