Death of Mrs Lewis

The funeral of Mrs Vella Verner Lewis, wife of Mr Thomas G Lewis, who died at
their home on the Jonesville road on Monday morning, was held at the Marietta
Methodist church Wednesday morning at ten o'clock.  Interment was at the city
cemetery.

Mrs Lewis was 22 years of age and leaves a baby just three days old.  Before her
marriage, she was Miss Vella Wright of Griffin.

Among those who attended the funeral were: Mrs S W McCarty of Fort Valley, Mrs J
L Brown of Greensboro, Mrs A S Phillips of Hartwell, sisters of Mrs Lewis; Mr
and Mrs J C Dozier of Griffin, sister and brother-in-law; Mr R Lewis of
Elberton, brother of Mr Lewis; her mother-in-law, Mrs J W Lewis of Hartwell; and
Mrs Frances Helman of Hamilton, a friend.
