The Cherokee Advance (Canton, Ga.)   Friday 29 Oct 1886 p 2
James McConnell died at his home in Acworth last Sunday night and was buried at 
New Bethel last Tuesday morning.  Mr. McConnell was for many years an honored 
and respected citizen of this county, and many there are who mourn his death.  
He was the grandfather of Misses Jennie and Nannie Hammond, of this place.
