The Marietta Journal, December 5, 1907
Mr J E McNAMARA of Marietta was found dead in his bed at the Salvation Army
headquarters by an attendant at about 7 o'clock Thursday night.

The same attendant who found the dead man had been in the room about two hours
before and at that time he seemed to be perfectly well.  He had asked for a cup
of tea and also for some water in a perfectly normal manner.  The attendant
complied with his request and left the room.  Upon returning in about two hours
he found Mr McNAMARA dead.  (-Atlanta Journal)

Mr McNAMARA came to Marietta from Vermont over twenty-five years ago and was for
many years superintendent of the Kennesaw Marble Company at this place, and it
is said he had no superior as a draughtman and knowledge of the marble business.
 After leaving the Kennesaw Marble Company, he accepted the superintendency of
the Gober Marble Company, where he remained up to a few months ago.  His wife
died last February, leaving him two children, Mable and Edward, who were placed
in the Rhinehardt College at Walesca, where they have been ever since.  He has
one brother, Mr John T McNAMARA, of New York.

The remains of Mr McNAMARA were brought here Monday.  The funeral was conducted
by Rev W L PIERCE at the grave in the city cemetery, where the interment took
place.  A large number of friends were present to pay their last respects to his
memory.

The pall bearers were Messrs G T ROGERS, Tom SHERIDAN, F J LUMPKIN, E G GILBERT,
W P STEPHENS and W A WALKER.
