The Marietta Journal  March 31, 1898
DIED - Mrs Talithia METCALFE died at her home in this place on Wednesday, March
23d, after a brief illness.  If she had lived until the 31st inst., she would
have been 71 years old.  Mrs METCALFE had lived in Marietta many years, and was
the widow of the late J W METCALFE.  She was a member of the Baptist Church and
died in the faith of the Christian religion.  She leaves two sons, Mr Will B
METCALFE and Mr Chas A METCALFE, both of whom are clerks in the office of the W
& A R R depot in this place.  She also leaves one sister, Mrs BAILEY.  The
funeral took place at the family residence on last Thursday afternoon, Rev W A
LINDSEY officiating.  The pall bearers were Messrs J H BOSTON, Dr J C GREER, C M
CROSBY, J T M HAIRE, E O WILLIAMS and W S N NEAL.  The interment was in the city
cemetery.  We deeply sympathise with the bereaved ones in the great loss they
have sustained.
