H. Barnes Dies After Fall; Rites Thursday Mrs. Annie Virginia Barnes, 86 died last night at Marietta Hospital from injuries suffered Tuesday morning in a fall at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. L. Squires on Kennesaw Avenue. Mrs. Barnes suffered a broken hip in the fall. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p. m. from the chapel of Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry K. Holland and the Rev. George Brown officiating. Burial will be in the city cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. Ralph Fowler, Dr. Earl Williams, Charley Mayes, Guy Northcutt, Jake Northcutt and J. T. Anderson Jr. The deceased was born and reared in Marietta and attended school here. She was the daughter of the Mr. and Mrs. Jess J. Northcutt of Marietta. She was a member of the Baptist church since early childhood and was active in church work until a recent illness. Mrs. Barnes was the widow of the late John H. Barnes St. of Marietta. She was a member of the Northcutt family, being a sister to the late Mrs. Frank Wellons Sr., Mrs. R. H. Northcutt Sr., Mrs. Campbell Wallace, Sr. and John R. Northcutt Sr. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. R. L. Squires and Mrs. Harry Livingston, Marietta; Mrs. A. B. Murphy, Washington, D. C. and Mrs. B. D. Fincannon, Jacksonville; two sons, B. N. Barnes, Los Angeles CA. and John H. Barnes Jr., Marietta and a host of nephews and nieces. Additional Comments: Survivors also included many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren she had at the time of her death.
