She was one of the oldest citizens of Marietta, and identified with the early history of our town. She was a most estimable lady possessing those Christian virtures and gentle graces that adorn human character. She was a faithful member of the Baptist Church, and lived an exemplary life. The deceased is survived by three sons and three daughters-Mr. Charles S. Northcutt, of Gilmer county; Mr. R. H. Northcutt, Mr. John D. Northcutt, Mrs. J. H. Barnes, Mrs Campbell Wallace and Mrs. F. B. Wellons, and a number of grandchildren. The funeral was conducted at the residence of Mrs. Wallace on Friday afternoon at 4:30, by Dr. C. E. W. Dobbs, pastor of the Baptist Church, and Dr. J. H. Patton, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. The interment was in city cemetery. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones. Additional Comments: Asenath's parents were George Baber (1802-1848) and Nancy Ann Haynes (1809- 1891). George Baber was the 1st Sheriff of Marietta, Cobb County Georgia. Before the prison was built he kept the prisoners under an overturned wagon on the square. Asenath and Jessie Jones Northcutt were married 12 Sep 1844, Marietta (Cobb) Georgia.
