The Marietta Journal, December 7, 1893
Mr Will W PERRY, aged 28 years, died at his mother's residence on Wednesday
night of last week, in this city, of influenza.  He had been in ill health for a
long time, and being of weak constitution, he readily succumbed to the severe
attack of la grippe or influenza, which found lodgment in his brain.  The
deceased was a quiet, gentlemanly and unobtrusive young man, and had the respect
of our people.  He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and his spirit is
now at rest.  He leaves a mother, a resident of this city, and a brother in
Texas and other relatives to mourn his death.  His funeral took place Friday
morning, Rev D BUTTOLPH officiating, after which his remains were interred in
the city cemetery.  We tender our sympathy to the bereaved mother in this dark
hour of her sorrow.
