The Marietta Journal & Courier  October 16, 1914
Mr George POWER, 93 years old, died at his home near Power's ferry on the river
Saturday night and was buried in the family burying ground Monday morning.

Rev W H SPEER conducted the funeral, assisted by Rev M EARLY.

Mr POWER leaves his wife, two sons, a daughter and a daughter-in-law.  His son,
Prof Charles POWER, of Hartwell, Miss Minnie POWER of Wesleyan College, Macon,
and Mrs G B POWER of Opelika, Ala., were among those from a distance attending
the funeral.

Col W R POWER, Messrs A A and W A BISHOP of Marietta are nephews of Mr George
POWER, and he has many other relatives in Cobb County.
