The Marietta Journal, January 10, 1919
Rev A B SEAY died at his home near Mableton on January 3, 1919.  He was one of
our oldest citizens and had he lived would have been 77 years old on the 24th of
this month.  Mr SEAY was a member of the Mableton Baptist church, also its
senior deacon.  He joined the church at Old Concord many years ago, and was one
of the constitutional members of Mableton church.  He was a faithful follower of
his Master until the end.  He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and was
loved and respected by all who knew him.  He leaves three sons and three
daughters, six brothers, three sisters and a host of other relatives and many
friends who mourn his death.  Mr SEAY was a member of Laden's Artillery, and did
gallant service in the Virginia army during the war between the states.  A good
and useful man gone, one who always responded to every call when help was
needed, and will be missed, not only by his family, but by this entire
community, but his work was finished and God took him home.  A beautiful life
not lost, just gone before.

He was laid to rest Sunday noon, January 5th, at the Davis cemetery, beside his
companion, who had preceded him only a few months.

Mr Alexander MABLE officiated and spoke in fitting words of the beautiful life
just gone out and exorted the vast throng that had assembled to live for God and
to follow the example set by our dear brother.

Peace to his ashes.  We tender our deepest sympathies to the bereaved family in
this dark hour.
