The Marietta Journal & Courier  April 4, 1913
The death angel visited the home of Mr Joe McCLURE last Tuesday night and took
for its victim his grandfather Mr Millard SMITH, one of our most esteemed and
oldest citizens.  Just one short month ago his aged companion spirit took its
flight to join the angel band.  Both were laid to rest at Shiloh.  We know these
two loved ones will be sadly missed but our loss is their gain.  We sympathize
with the bereaved ones.
