Deaths and Funerals

Miss Essie Trenholm Dies Suddenly

Our town was shocked on Friday by the sudden and unexpected death of Miss Essie 
Trenholm, 70 years old, which occurred early that morning at her home on 
Waddell Street. The funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church on 
Saturday afternoon, the Rev. I.A. White officiating. The interment was in the 
City Cemetery, the pall-bearers being Messers. A.B. Gilbert, C.T. Carnes, 
Charley Ward, Sumner Mell, Robert Hill and J.Z. Foster.

Miss Trenholm is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lila Dews and Mrs. Young, with 
whom she resided; a nephew, Mr. D.T. Baker, of Marietta, and a niece, Mrs. 
Georgia King, of Savannah. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Baptist 
Church.
