Mrs. Amanda Whelan, aged 72 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.W. Moon on Roswell Street, on Thursday night, Dec. 27, 1906, at 7:30 o’clock, after an illness of some six or seven weeks of typhoid fever. Mrs. Whelan was a most estimable woman, kind-hearted and a most devoted member of the Methodist Church. She had lived a life of usefulness and encouragement, and her death is a source of deep regret to her many friends here and elsewhere. Her funeral was held at the Methodist church on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock conducted by Rev. W.L. Pierce. After which the remains were placed at rest in the city cemetery. We tender our sympathy to the bereaved family.
