The Marietta Journal  June 17, 1897
MARRIED - Rev E M DYER, pastor of the Acworth Baptist church, was married to
Miss Carrie BITTING, of Dalton, on last Thursday afternoon, June 10th, returning
on the evening train.  The members of his church gave them a reception at the
residence of Mrs W P McDOWELL.  There was about two hundred present.  One very
noticeable feature of the occasion was so many brides and groom present - and
other soon to be.
