The Marietta Journal  June 18, 1885
MARRIED - At the Presbyterian Church in this place, at 7 o'clock, on the evening
of the 16th inst, by Rev D L (unreadable), Mr J B OSBORNE of Atlanta and Miss
Maggie BYRD, of this place.  The ushers and attendants were Messrs E LAW, R B
PARKS, G S BREWSTER of Atlanta; J S LATTNER of Chattanooga; T W (unreadable),
John GREER, R N HOLLAND and F A IRWIN of Marietta.  Miss Roselle MANSFIELD
presided at the organ.  The newly married couple left on the 7:30 train for
Atlanta, their future home.  The bridal presents were numerous and elegant, and
showed the esteem in which the bride was held by her friends.  She is a most
excellent young lady of many admirable traits of character, and will prove a
true and loving "help-meet" (sic) to the worthy young gentleman with whom she
has linked her destiny.  The groom is a prosperous merchant of Atlanta, and
stands deservedly high among Atlanta's best young men.  We wish the happy couple
a continued feast of love and a large share of the good things of this life and
crowns of rejoicing in the life to come.
