One of the most important social events of the winter in Pittsburg, Pa., was the marriage of Miss Elizabeth Day, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ewing Wilbur Day, to Lieutenant Robert Adair Ansley, son of Judge and Mrs. John Ansley, of Franklin, N.C., formerly of Marietta, Ga. The ceremony was performed by Bishop Alexander Mann, of Pittsburg, at the home of the bride’s parents in the presence of the family and few friends. A large reception followed. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin trimmed with rose point lace and seed pearls. The bridal veil of tulle was held in place by a coronet of rose point lace and cluster of orange blossoms. The train of satin was court length. The bridal bouquet was of lilies of the valley with orange blossoms and orchids. The bride’s attendant was Miss Cora Winslow Hubbard, who was gowned in yellow chiffon embroidered in gold and carried yellow chrysanthemums. Lieutenant Edward Doughty, Jr., U.S.N., was best man. The ushers were Lieutenant John C. Cross and Lieutenant Edwin Price, of the navy. Lieutenant and Mrs. Autrey*, after the wedding trip, will go to New York until January 2, when Lieutenant Autrey will sail for the Pacific. *The groom’s last name at beginning of the article was Ansley and at the end of the article his surname appears as Autrey. I'm not familiar with the families and don't know the correct last name. Additional Comments: Transcriber's note: I'm not related to or researching the Ansley and Day families.
