The Marietta Journal  January 4, 1900
A very pretty marriage took place at the Baptist Church on last Thursday morning
at half-past 8 o'clock.  The contracting parties were Prof Bernard AWTREY of
Acworth and Miss Katie L HUFFAKER of Marietta.  Rev J T JENKINS performed the
impressive ceremony.  Miss McCASKEY of Acworth presided at the organ.  It was a
quiet affair.  The groom is principal of the Smith Lemon Institute in Acworth. 
The bride is a teacher in the same school.  While the two principal actors in
this important event were teaching pupils the fundamental principles of
education, Cupid crept in and taught these two teachers the important lesson of
love.  The groom is a most excellent gentleman and a brother to Hon. John AWTREY
of Marietta and Mr Orlando AWTREY of Acowrth.  The bride is a most charming
young lady, beautiful in person and cultured in mind, and is the daughter of Mrs
Lizzie HUFFAKER of this place.  

The Journal wishes the happy couple uninterrupted and unalloyed felicity for all
time to come.

The happy couple left for Acworth Thursday morning, their future home.
