Will of Richard DAVIS, of Kershaw County, South Carolina:

"State of South Carolina, Kershaw District

In the Name of God Amen, I Richard Davis Being in a low State of Health but in 
but in Perfect mind and Memory, Calling to mind that all Persons have Once to 
die, do make ordain and Constitute this my Last Will and Testament Denying all 
other Wills Deeds and Codicills of wills,  First I Recomen my Sole to God from 
whence it came and my Body to be Buried in deacent Christian Like Form--and as 
to my Worldy Estate,  First, I give and bequeath Unto my beloved wife Hannah 
Davis all my house hold furniture to it Two Beds bedsteds and furniture five 
setting chairs two Tables One tophat and Two chests One looking Glafs Two Pots 
and one Oven my Pewter Tin ware Crockery ware knives forks Spoons and Settry 
One Sorrel Mare of my Own Raising One black Cow and Calf One Black listed sow 
and Eight pigs and a Seficient quantity of hogs out of Stock to make her bacon 
at the fall the Ballance of my Stock of Hogs and Cattle to be sold to 
Discharge my Lawful Debts and to Pay all chargis and if thare shood be any 
left to be Returned to my wife above Mentioned and like wise I Give to my 
above mentioned wife One pr of Stillards and then I constitute and appoint my 
Trusty friend John Swilley my true and lawful Executor and only him alone  
Given Under my hand and Seal this 4th day of May 1815----

Additional Comments:
It is believed Richard DAVIS and his wife, Hannah UNKNOWN DAVIS, were the 
parents of Reverend Gary [George] DAVIS, born circa 16 January 1799, in Union 
County, South Carolina, died circa 04 August 1875, buried near DAVIS 
CROSSROADS, in Davis-Hill Family Cemetery, Cobb County, Georgia, USA. 

Reverend Gary DAVIS is thought to have married Sarah 'Sallie' D. FLOYD, 
daughter of Garland Gallant Floyd and his first wife, Nancy ABERCROMBIE 
[daughter of James ABERCROMBIE, of Laurens, Laurens District, South Carolina, 
USA];

Sarah 'Sallie' D. FLOYD and Reverend Gary DAVIS married circa 1821 Hall 
County, Georgia, USA;  she is buried next to her husband near DAVIS 
CROSSROADS, in Davis-Hill Family Cemetery, Cobb County, Georgia, USA.
  
Descendants of their grandson, Benjamin 'Ben' DAVIS, and of their son, Garland 
F. B. [Bushrod] 'Bush' DAVIS and his wife, Susan, settled in the areas around 
Carroll County, Georgia, circa 1860 and later....

The Davis-Hill Family Cemetery, near DAVIS CROSSROADS, Cobb County, Georgia, 
is located in the middle of/near a residential section currently being studied 
for development, recently the subject of review by the historical society of 
that area, marked by historical marker and currently the project of 
restoration.
