On roll for the period April 30 to August 31, 1864, last on fie, he was reported absent sick. No later record found. Additional Comments: Medical Records show, Ashford was wounded, compound fracture of right thigh, furloughed 60 days. He was disabled and at home at the close of the Civil War. He was wounded in a skirmish at Rapidan River, Virginia Sept 16, 1863, The 26th Georgia Reg.
