M. Thursday night was held at Oak Grove church Saturday afternoon at 3:30 P. M. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Mr. McLean was the son of the late Duncan McLean and a member of Coffee County's pioneer families having been born and raised in the northern section of Coffee county. His chief interest was farming and he maintained large land interests. The deceased was killed when the car he was driving met another driven by a Mr. Bronner of Broxton five miles from Douglas last Thursday night. Mr. McLean's car traveled approximately a hundred yards before it came to a stop. It was completely demolished and killed Mr. McLean outright. The body was brought to the Douglas Undertaking company. Mr. Bonner and two young ladies, other occupants of the car were severely bruised and shaken up but no serious injuries were sustained. Willie Lee Kight, occupant of the McLean car received minor injuries. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Swain, pastor of the Broxton Methodist church. The deceased is survived by his mother, Mrs. Duncan McLean, his wife, and six children; Mrs. White Ferribean, Margaret, Lucretia, Mary Lou, Duncan and C. H.. Two brothers, Archie McLean of Miami, Fla., and William McLean, also five sisters; Mrs. Frank Head, Mrs. Dan Byrd, Mrs. Bornard Drew, Mrs. W. C. Smith, and Mrs. C. W. Williams of McRae. The following served as active pall bearers: F. F. Preston, John Gibson, Clyde Stubbs, Ed Kight, Wylie Young, A. R. Lewis, J. H. Green, and R. C. Relihan.
