Atkinson County Citizen - February 14, 2008
 Rosa Lee McKinnon Highsmith Anderson, 92, of Douglas, GA passed away on 
Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Southern Senior Living. Mrs. Anderson a native of 
Coffee Co., GA was born November 17, 1915; she is the daughter of the late 
Jesse B. and Emma Adams McKinnon. She is the widow of the late Charlie 
Highsmith and Mack Anderson. She was a retired county tax office clerk and a 
member of the First United Methodist Church. Grandson, Charles Braddy Mullis 
and step-grandson, Jimmy Anderson preceded her in death.
 Survivors include, daughter, June Highsmith Mullis, Axson, GA; granddaughter, 
Brenda Mullis Carver; stepsons, Joe Anderson, San Antonio, TX, John Anderson, 
Houston, TX; step-grandchildren, Trina Anderson, Chris Anderson, Lauren 
Anderson, Cody Anderson, William Anderson and Kimberly Anderson; great 
grandchildren, James Andrew Mullis, Cole Braddy, Charles Jeremy Carver and 
Jenna Rose Carver.
 Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2008 at the First 
United Methodist Church in Douglas, GA with Rev. Benji Varnell and Rev. James 
Drake officiating. The congregation sang "Amazing Grace" with Allison Easton, 
pianist providing soft music for the prelude and postlude. Burial followed in 
the Satilla Gardens Cemetery.
 Active pallbearers were Andrew Mullis, Cole Mullis, Jeremy Carver, Pharr 
Mullis, Hal Wilson, Matt McCall, Jenna Rose Carver and Carmen Greenway.
 Honorary pallbearers were members of the Whitfield Sunday School Class.
 Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
