James Melvin Buchanan, Sr., 62, of Enigma died April 9, 2014, at his residence.
 He was born June 15, 1951, in Eustis, FL, to the late James Thadius and Nellie 
Mae Merritt Buchanan.
  Survivors include his wife, Sandra Kay Buchanan of Enigma; son, Christopher 
Brian Buchanan of Atlanta; daughter, Anjel Renee Buchanan of Enigma; two 
sisters, Susan Soto of Leesburg, FL and Lois Kitts of Tampa, FL; several nieces 
and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, James Melvin Buchanan, Jr.
 Funeral services were held April 13 at 4 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of 
Latter Day Saints with Bishop Andy Solomon officiating. Elder Charles Lott gave 
a eulogy with Elder Wayne Joyce giving remarks. The congregation sang “Sweet 
Hour of Prayer” and “I Need Thee Every Hour,” accompanied by S. G. Solomon, 
pianist.
 Interment followed at New Hope Church Cemetery.
 Active pallbearers were Damon Joyce, Joey Joyce, Kyle Soto, Eric Soto, Matthew 
Keanon, Dewayne Mann.
 Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
