Charles Edward Day, age 85, of Broxton GA, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Coffee Regional Medical Center, as a result of injuries received in a automobile accident. Mr. Day, a native of Coffee County, GA, was born July 14, 1924. He is the son of the late George Henderson Day & Anna Mae Jackson Day. He was a Holiness Minister in Coffee County & surrounding counties for 57 years. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Army & a member of the New Corinth Calvary Holiness Church. For 50 years he had been a Bee Keeper and sold honey in stores in the surrounding area. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 02, 2010 at the Calvary Holiness Campground with interment to follow in the New Corinth Holiness Church cemetery. Survivors include: his wife, Bernice Taylor Day; daughters, Glenda Ann Johnson, Hazlehurst, GA & Joyce (James Byron) Gay, Broxton GA; sons: Johnny (Marla) Day, Douglas, GA; Jerome (Jan) Day, Stanford (Billie Jean) Day, Ronnie (Selena) Day, & Jimmy (Brenda) Day, all of Broxton, GA; Charles (Judy) Day, Jr., Apopka, FL; daughter-in-law, Sandra S. Sears Day Spivey, Broxton, GA (widow of Rev. Day's son, Wayne Day). Step-children: Jo Anne (Johnny) Dykes, Beverly (Donnie) Spires & Tommy (Melba) Phillips, Douglas, GA; Brothers, LeRoy (Margaret) Day, James (Mary Lou) Day & Aubrey Day, Douglas GA, Adron (Pauline) Day, Valdosta GA; sisters: Delorice Wooten, Broxton, GA; Betty Carol Smith, Glennville, GA; & Willene D. Graham, Hazlehurst, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday & Saturday; calling hours are 6:00 PM, until 9:00 PM. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
